Ombré once seemed like the answer to every woman’s root regrowth problem. So I embraced it. Anything that can give me more time between appointments is something I will always embrace – who knew my laziness would become chic? Little did I know there an even better solution that our colorists were keeping from us—sombré. This new hair color trend is the perfect easy, breezy look. Huge thanks to the geniuses at Brambila for letting me in on their little secret, and for making my locks even more low maintenance – and gorgeous!
So how do you create the perfect sombre? I just go to Brambila, stare at the ocean from thier gorgeous ocean front salon, then they do the rest 🙂
- Make it subtle.
Sombré is ombré’s coy little sister (who also happens to be so much more low-maintenance). Forget the drastic contrast of dark roots and light ends! Sombré is a much softer version of the ombré.
- Don’t forget that blondes can sombré too.
Unlike the ombré that worked best for brunettes – sombré actually works for everyone! It is especially great way for dark blondes to go lighter, without changing their natural color (which is what I did).
- Gloss it.
Sombré looks best on high-shine hair, so give it a little boost in between color appointments. If you are going to the salon for a haircut or a blowout, ask your colorist to give you a 10-minute clear gloss prior to your service. Glosses close the cuticle of the hair to add healthy shine.
- Embrace layers.
To show off your highlights, opt for a cut with layers at the bottom. This way, the brighter ends won’t fall on top of each other, causing them to look too heavy on the bottom.
Bottom line: The stylists at Brambila can make your hair look effortlessly fabulous, while you sip on Sangria.
