It’s Fall y’all – and I love fall. I love jackets, I love boots, and I love the sound of crunching leaves. My birthday is in October, so I also love that fall means my birthday is right around the corner 🙂
One of my favorite things about fall growing up in the Midwest was apple picking. I loved climbing the trees to the best apples even though you were definitely not supposed to climb the trees. And I definitely liked the donut eating and cider drinking at the orchards. And of course, and my mom’s apple crisp with the fresh apples. Since moving to Los Angeles, I haven’t been apple picking outside of Ralph’s, because it just isn’t something that exists out here. We have great weather year round, we have gorgeous beaches, we have pretty people – but we do not have apple picking. Or, at least I didn’t think so. I was wrong 🙂
Turns out, about 90 minutes from here, you can pick apples – and actually pick cherries, strawberries, peaches, plums, pumpkins, etc depending on the season. Not sure why this made me so excited – but it did. Here is a list of the best places to go in Los Angeles. And for all of you lovelies in other parts of the country, have no fear here is a list of orchards all across the country. So, go forth and pick apples because you can, and because it’s awesome.
Bottom Line: Apple crisp is delicious.
